Game Review: Splinter Cell Double-Agent

This was taken from my FB, and was written on August 15th, 2007.

This game was very realistic, with exceptional physics effects and graphics. When one jumps off a building, one can see Fisher’s increase in speed by 9.8m/s2. The gameplay was excellent, but the ending was short-lived; the last level only took about 15 minutes compared to the rest of the levels which took at least 30.

Rating: 9/10

Game Review: Topspin Tennis

This was taken from my FB and was written on August 15th, 2007.

This game is about tennis (hence the name), and follows the same structure as Wiiiiiiii – Sports, with doubles or singles depending on your choice of options; the only difference in the movement of the players. You must move the players yourself with the stick. In the wii sports tennis, the players move by themselves and all you must do is move the motion control.

Rating: 6/10

Why> You can select one player 4 times, so you end up having quintuplets playing each other.

Feder and Feder vs Feder and Feder

Otherwise, a pretty fun game.

Game Review: Halo 3

This was taken from my FB and was written on November 1st, 2007.

Welcome again everyone to another video game review! This time its about the much sought after Halo 3. This game features an extensive campaign, great modifiers to playable modes, and an expansive arsenal of weaponry.

To modify your campaign, you can turn on “skulls.” These skulls make the levels harder in different ways, perhaps changing the amount of ammo you pick up to half the regular amount, or making the enemy tougher to kill.

I recommend this game for its great graphics and wide array of weaponry. Although some weapons have been toned down, many more are up and ready to use.

This game is the stunning conclusion to the epic Halo trilogy.

I give it a 9/10.

The only con is that some of the skulls which you have to unlock disappear, and thus you cannot grab them to unlock new armor. The skull in “The Storm” disappears due to a glitch which only a few x360 users experience.

Game Review: Assassin’s Creed (X360)

This was taken from my FB, and was written on December 5th, 2007.

This game is AWESOME!!

Aside from the great storyline which is pretty realistic, the sword fighting is innovative and rocks!!

The storyline takes place in the third crusade with Salahuddin and everyone else…

Great graphics and the fact that you can jump off the Cross Church in Acre makes the game even cooler. That church is the highest in Acre so jumping off it allowed me to find out that the physics are in fact correct, for you do accelerate as you jump off.

Aside from the whole game, one can choose to visit Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, the Cross Church in Acre, and The Golden Mosque in Damascus (I think thats what it is).

I give this game a 9/10.

-1 because it froze up when I was fighting 20+ guards lolll

Game Review: World of Warcraft

This was taken from my FB and was written on January 21, 2008.

WOW is a MMORPG, meaning massively multiplayer online role playing game. It takes place in the world of Azeroth, a HUGE world where you can select a player out of 4-5 classes and 4-5 professions based on your alliance and class. For example, you can aspire to become a gnome mage, or night elf rogue, so on and so forth.

Pros:

This game has a great variety in the multitude of professions, classes, and quests that one can follow.

This game has a great amount of players playing at once and huge battles can go on side by side.

This game has a high replay value.

Cons:

This game has a very quest oriented storyline, meaning that outside of quests, one can not progress far into the game. From lvl 1 to lvl 60 or 70, one is doing quests all day. One must do quests to level up and grinding does not help one level faster.

Some professions can get boring, and then one must start over with another from lvl 1. This can get really frustrating, trying to choose the right profession.

The game is SOOO large that it takes almost 10 minutes to walk from one town to another. On top of that, annoying creatures bombard you, forcing you to wait and kill them before proceeding.

The predator-prey paradox, found by Adil B. is found in not only this game, but in other RPGs like GuildWars. This paradox cites the fact that lvl 10 huge spiders are walking next to lvl 6 elder nightsabers, and not attacking each other. Instead, they both gang up to attack you, which does not make much sense. This relationship is seen with every critter in the game.

OVERALL:

Due to the increased complexity of this MMORPG, I hesitate to rank it fully, rather giving it a 7/10. This game lacks easiness, not for the beginner who just wants some quick fun. For people who lack dedication, other games like Guildwars may be a better pick.

Remember, those well experienced players that you may see in trailers have played at least 40+ hours.

Game Review: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

This was copied from my FB page and was written on March 30th.

Rating 8/10

Review:

This is an awesome flying fighter game simulation!! The complex graphics of the xbox 360 combined with a nice TV give the terrain an aesthetically beautiful touch; all this combined with huge dogfights make the game even more fun to play.
You are the leader of Garuda Team, nicknamed Talisman, and you have one wingmate who sort of helps you but doesn’t really do much until the later stages. You must carry out missions/objectives and can land on captured airways for more weapons and ammo.

Pros and Cons:

This game is very interesting, but here are the technicalities:

+Very good game setting (some random area so as not to provoke any feelings)
+Good variety of weapons
+Tough enemies (well not all the enemies were tough, but some of them were just expert aces!)
+Great graphics

– Bad wingmate who doesn’t do anything except tell you that you are being targeted by a missile.
–Sometimes the missions are so large and so many operations are happening at the same time that you can not help everyone out.
–Bad radar system; the writing on the hud is way too small. It can be read but is a strain to the eyes.

-Just a tad bit unrealistic: you can carry 240 missiles on your airplane plus an additional 260 special missiles.

AND lastly!

A strange ANIME style game with ANIME people!! If you don’t like anime you probably won’t like the mid-game videos, but you can still get the storyline by skipping the videos so the game is still great!

I give this game a 8/10 for great graphics and a nice combat system but a junky video storyline filled with corny voice acting.

Welcome
