So one day you come in and sit down, in a classroom far far away,
“Please take out your number 2 pencil”
“Please take out your calculator”
“Please do not stand up during the test”
“Please do not eat during the test”
“Please do not die during the test”
After about 45minutes of rules,,, the instructor passes out the tests and the onslaught begins.
For many, taking the SAT has become an increasingly overwhelming situation. The college test is one of the major requirements for gaining entry to college, and for some especially supercilious students, the SAT is the most crucial indicator of one’s ability. Students who are deemed “college rigorous” by state educational authorities basically KILL themselves everyday, trying to achieve a worthy enough GPA to get into prestigious schools like the University of Pennsylvania, or so on and so forth of Ivy Schools. The college student will often go crazy taking AP classes, even when they load up on average 2 hours per class, per night.
The SAT is just another burden on the head of the “college rigorous” student. This type of student almost never gets a full night’s sleep, either studying for some test, or trying to find some way to relax. At least the Collegeboard has given some thought to the students unflexible schedules by providing almost 9 times a year when the SAT can be taken. Although this “luxury” is present, students still do not get enough time to comply with the numerous regulations of the educational administrators.
The SAT is still semi-biased in the fact that most “college rigorous” students will get higher scores than those who do not take upper level courses. This is because the college bound children often take review classes which can range from $500-$1000. This gives the students a ton of preparation time for the SAT in which numerous problems are explained. Some schools have tried to help the non-college rigorous students or those that can not afford the real prep classes by creating school SAT prep classes, though these are usually very badly run.
